Asma en el embarazo

Resumen


En este articulo se revisan las modificaciones fisiológicas que se producen durante el embarazo, los efectos del embarazo sobre el asma y las consecuencias del asma sobre el desarrollo fetal. Además se muestra la evidencia actual respecto a la seguridad de los tratamientos farmacológicos del asma durante el embarazo y un reciente algoritmo de manejo multidisciplinar de la asmática embarazada. En el seguimiento de una paciente con asma gestante se recomienda emplear medidas objetivas para prescribir la medicación necesaria para mantener el control del asma y efectuar visitas periódicas con tareas educativas en cada una de ellas para mejorar la adherencia y enseñar a la paciente a reconocer los síntomas de pérdida de control.
