Asma inducida por el esfuerzo y deporte. Una puesta al día práctica
Resumen
Una crisis asmática originada por la realización de ejercicio es una forma común de presentación del asma. La presencia de este proceso durante la infancia limita la actividad de los niños en las actividades lúdicas y deportivas, incluso para edades posteriores. Por eso, el cuidado del asma y la prevención del asma de esfuerzo, mediante una terapia medicamentosa adecuada y la práctica de las orientaciones relacionadas con la etiopatogenia del asma de esfuerzo, favorecen la actividad deportiva en el asmático a todos los niveles. El aumento de deportistas asmáticos y la solicitación del aparato respiratorio en condiciones límite condiciona una mayor aparición de síntomas propios del asma en sujetos de alto rendimiento deportivo. En esta breve puesta al día se trata la etiopatogenia del asma en el deporte, el método diagnóstico, el diagnóstico diferencial respecto a otras patologías propias del ámbito deportivo y el tratamiento farmacológico y su relación con el dopaje en el momento actual.
